Yorba Wines

Bearing the legacy of 4 generations of Yorba citrus growers in Southern California, in 2003, the Kraemer Family marked their entry into the world of wine grapes when they started a vineyard on a beautiful, secluded ranch they had discovered in Amador County, within the Sierra Foothills of Northern California.

Led by family member and wine industry veteran Ann Kraemer, who has over 25 years of vineyard management experience for several prestigious Napa wineries, the Shake Ridge Vineyard was developed with the sole objective of producing nothing but the highest quality grapes. Today, this 46-acre vineyard is the culmination of Ann’s vision, experience, thoughtful design, and hard work, and produces grapes that are highly sought-after by some of the state’s most well-regarded wineries.

Complementing Ann’s skills in the vineyard are those of Yorba winemaker Ken Bernards who, over the years, has garnered international acclaim for his talent working with the highly challenging Pinot Noir grape. Ken applies his sensitivity to the nuances of that finicky fruit to each other varietal that he works with, thus eliciting the best that Shake Ridge has to offer in the elegant, balanced Yorba wines.

Complementing the efforts of Ann and Ken are those of the entire Kraemer clan, extending from newly “un-retired” grandparents, to a youthful next generation, whose members eagerly collect dirt under their fingernails as they work the land and challenge their elders to rethink the way things have been done in the past.
