Next week marks the second in CV's series of partner winery visits when Acorn Winery owners, Bill & Betsy Nachbaur, will be on hand to do what they love to do best:  share the precious products of their winemaking efforts.  And since this is the very first time they'll be doing so in Hong Kong, California Vintage guests will be among the first to learn first-hand what makes their wines so distinct. 

I was fortunate to discover Acorn's wines almost 10 years ago and, ever since, have been utterly impressed with their consistent quality and uncompromised commitment to a winemaking philosophy that is based on long-standing Old World traditions.  I'll leave it to Bill & Betsy to embellish but just remember these 2 words: "Field Blending".  It is upon this tradition that Acorn's wines are crafted.  If you're interested, you can do some advance research at:   www.acornwinery.com.

Of course, we'll be featuring Acorn as our "Winery of the Week" all week, but Bill & Betsy will be on hand to meet with guests, first on Monday (21 Mar) for a Guest Winery Dinner which will include a 4 course food and wine pairing featuring their wines.   Seating is limited for this event -- and filling up fast -- so best you shoot us an email immediately if you'd like to attend (just click on the contact link below). But not to worry, since they will be back again on Wednesday to host the Acorn Tasting Bar at CV, starting at 6pm, and then on Friday to mix and mingle casually with guests.  More details will be available on the events page but I strongly suggest that, if you like to be the first among your friends to discover "hidden gem" wines, this is one week at CV you don't want to miss.  And I suspect they may be packing some special treats in their luggage so come on by and see if you'll be one of the lucky recipients!
