Founded by Matt and Erin Cline in 2006, Three Wine Company is the manifestation of a dream for a couple who found their passion, along with each other, while working in the wine industry.

Matt’s winemaking career was seeded in 1982 when he joined his brother’s winery, Cline Cellars, and, while completing his enology degree at the University of California at Davis, became their winemaker and creative director. Over his 16-year career at Cline, he developed and branded the winery’s unique winemaking style, resulting in countless rave reviews and awards. It was also there that he met his wife Erin who had migrated from New York to work in the industry.

In 2001, Matt and Erin started Trinitas Cellars, focused on producing premium, old-vine Zinfandel, Mataro, and Petite Sirah. After building sales to over 9,000 cases, they sold Trinitas at the end of 2006 , and created the foundation for Three with the launch of S3x (S three times - small, sweet, sips), a botrytis, late harvest wine from the Russian River Valley which has been the subject of amazing praise since its emergence. In 2008, they expanded the Three line to encompass the old-vine varietals they had done so well with at both Cline and Trinitas, and which is supported by the same premium vineyard sources they had worked with in the past.
